8.9.08 Peter + Molly are married!

For us it's always a treat when we get to shoot somewhere new. As a photographer, getting out of your element can definitely bring new perspective and creativity to your photos. Peter and Molly got married in Grafton and had their reception at the Ozaukee Country Club. Along the way we got to shoot some amazing photos on Lake Michigan (even though a 'Beach Cop' did his best to try to not let that happen), before arriving at the beautifully decorated reception (Peter and Molly did a great job with the details!). The highlight of dinner was Peters surprise rendition of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours." These two high school sweethearts planned and executed a perfect wedding and I had a lot of fun covering it. Special thanks to their friends who scored me the Vegan entrée! Below is a preview of some of their photos. - Derrick

Kathy & Evan are Engaged!

Engagement shoots are always fun for us, but when we aren't limited to one location (ie a park, the capital etc) we always feel more creative. Evan and Kathy chose to have their engagement session downtown, and we had a great time walking around with them and getting some great shots! These two did a fabulous job at adding lib & having fun with their shoot. Flipping through all of their pictures there are some great smiles shared between the two of them that really scream that they are the real deal and very much in love! We even had a chance to get a few fun "ice cream" shots.
With out further ado here's just a few of their shots....

Amber & Dave are Engaged!

Olin Park provided a very natural and beautiful feel for Amber & Dave's engagement session.

Derrick & I had a great time chatting with Amber & Dave and hearing more about their summer and what they have planned for their wedding coming up in May. Amber & Dave both work together so they can relate with Derrick & I and how wonderful it is to be able to spend so much time with your significant other. Below are just a few of their pics!

7.26.08 Trisha & Andy are Married!

Trisha was surprised to find that instead of the luxury SUVs that Andy & the groomsmen were supposed to rent for tranportation on their wedding day, that they instead had the "Buddah Bus." (due to the rental place not having any vehicles that would fit a group as large as theirs)  It's unexpected and unplanned elements like this that can truly add character to a Wedding day. Shooting photos at the Capitol is always more fun when you have a fun group like this jamming to "Sexy Back" blaring from the factory stereo of a full size white van.  The rest of Trisha & Andy's day went off with out any other hitches with their celebration at the Concourse. Somehow we continue to get lucky with some great couples who seem to always have amazing friends and family! Below are some previews from their day.

7.25.08 Michelle & Bob are Married!

Sometimes true love takes time to find. Michelle & Bob are an excellent example of how finding the perfect person is well worth the wait. We were fortunate to be chosen to document their wedding day with both photography & videography. They had an intimate wedding party of 1 attendant each, but having many nieces and nephews they found a way to get just about every kid under the age of 18 at their wedding involved in one way or another (I'm exaggerating a little, but not much). Michelle's Cousin performed a beautiful ceremony at St. Albert's in Sun Prairie. Humid and potentially stormy weather gave way to partially sunny skies just in time for us to shoot at Olin on our way to the Sheridan for their reception. Just a perfect day for a perfect couple. Below are a selection of shots from their day.
